Some people might think that slime molds are strange things from outer space. They are not. They are actually living organisms. Their life starts out as almost a slug form that moves along the ground. When they are in this form they tend to stay in a cool moist place. They will stay under logs, in wells, or a cool basement. They search for food such as bacteria or pollen. They will then grow bigger and might even merge with other ones to form tiny streams that seem to flow along the ground. When the food starts to run low they start to stop moving and form long stalks. These stalks have a big bud that will release millions of tiny spores into the air to become more slime mold. After the slime mold plant releases the spores, it dies. This is all of the info I have on slime molds right now.
